Crop n Shop is owned and operated by Deborah Evans (me). A bubbly, friendly person who is passionate about creativity. I am a Mum of two young girls and live in Te Puke, Bay of Plenty.

I was able to express my creative side by starting with card making 14 years ago then  11 years ago when my second child was born I started on Scrapbooking which I have progressed with in leaps and bounds.  I also do painting, mosaic, off the page projects, gardening/landscaping etc.

After a friend closed their scrapbooking store, Bookem, I bought the last of her stock and started Crop n Shop.   Crop n Shop is a Home-Based business about creativity and trying to keep prices affordable for everyone.  We do not stock every product but can supply thousands of different products so just ask. We also run regular Craft Groups where creative woman get together to do their projects.  It is a lot of fun and is only $5 and runs every Thursday and Friday.

History of Scrapbooking

Mark Twain was a lifelong creator and keeper of scrapbooks. He took them with him everywhere and filled them with souvenirs, pictures, and articles about his books and performances. But in time, he grew tired of the lost glue, rock-hard paste, and the swearing that resulted from the standard scrapbook process.  So, he came up with the idea of printing thin strips of glue on the pages to make updates neat and easy to do. In 1872, he patented his “self-pasting” scrapbook, and by 1901, at least 57 different types of his albums were available. It would be his only invention that ever made money.
